A peach-skin color with orange highlights for this rosé made from Chardonnays from harvests 2011-12 and 13, topped up with 7% Ambonnay red wine. This is the first time we've tasted this rosé, and we're delighted: the nose is unusually complex, with notes of roses, red fruit essences and the root structure of the soil. On the palate, the wine reveals itself in the spirit of the house, with astonishing ripeness of grapes, complexity of flavors and length. It's hard to resist tasting such a rosé, with its fine tannins on the finish, but it's especially hard to resist tasting such a complex, flavorful rosé. Forget aperitifs by the pool and sit down to a meal of red mullet or Galician-style octopus. A great first time with this rosé that we can't wait to taste again.
