Opulent, weathered nose of roasted hazelnuts, beeswax and lime. The palate is bitingly fresh as 19 vintages stare back at you: this delicious nectar is a UFO from the very first second. The back label says you should decant it, and indeed you can. The beauty of this bottle lies in the emotion it evokes, for the brain has a bit of trouble keeping up, yet it's a magnificent oxymoron: sharp vinosity, a saline touch of vanilla, sweet curry. Drink it from the heart with fine ravioli of mashed potatoes, sun-dried tomatoes and cured ham velouté.
