The first impression is one of great maturity, with aromas of yellow peach, frangipane, maracuja, fresh pineapple and a hint of sweet spices (turmeric, cardamom). Much younger, the palate is full-bodied and powerful, with fleshy notes of dried fruit (apricot, pineapple) and hazelnut, and a velvety texture with small tannins that add breed. The well-established freshness gives a feeling of energy that carries through to a long, persistent finish. More like a Corton-Charlemagne than a Champagne. Only 1998 bottles of this cuvée have been produced.
