Gourmet Restaurant At Odette's, we cultivate hospitality as much as we do grapes. Housed in an old family home on the satellite side of the Frédéric Mabileau estate, this restaurant is as much about passing on the tradition as it is about the art of winegrowing. In the kitchen, Charly, Odette's grandson, composes contemporary dishes that are fresh, precise and firmly rooted in the season, backed up by his partner Juliette in the dining room. The duo is willing and committed, but a more structured team wouldn't do any harm in smoothing out the service, which is still a little irregular at peak times. The score begins with a monochrome of roasted duck hearts, spiced up with ginger and twisted with raspberry, beet and shiso: a starter full of élan and relief. This is followed by a line-caught red tuna with roasted tomato cream, white bean salad and sauce vierge: everything is straightforward, fresh and well-balanced. For dessert, a peppery diplomat, strawberry sorbet, Breton shortbread and strawberry salad: a classic combination, but no less effective. In the cellar, Domaine Mabileau wines naturally play the leading roles - and with panache - throughout the meal.
