Gourmet Restaurant The cosy interior and the fireplace in winter are reassuring arguments for visiting this bourgeois house, where Karine and Stéphane Charles draw on twenty years' experience in the historic heart of Chinon. The work is serious without being revolutionary, and the technique is well mastered, even if some compositions are a little overloaded, such as the carpaccio of smoked sea bass, herring roe, soya bean guacamole, red bell pepper virgin sauce and black rice vinegar, low-temperature roasted veal fillet, sweet and sour pear sauce and duck jus, saffron-poached pear, smoked garlic vitelotte crush, before a slightly compact chocolate yuzu tartlet, coffee sorbet and cocoa nib tuile, coffee sauce. A good, affordable wine list, with Chinon wines well represented (Baudry, Couly, Sourdais...).
