The sweetness of fresh rose, the juiciness of wild blackberry and rounder aromas of poached pear, hazelnut and freshly baked almond cake, the nose of this vintage is a pleasure that evolves between roundness and elegance. White fruit refreshes the bouquet on aeration. Beneath the lively bubbles, the springtime freshness of the palate barely conceals a powerful, vinous body. The taut finish leaves a delicately vegetal sensation on the palate, a perfect accompaniment to the sweetness of pike-perch in beurre blanc.

This family-run business was founded in 1849. Approximately 50% of the grape supply, exclusively Premier and Grand Cru, comes from the 89 hectares of vines grown in-house, spread across the terroirs of the Marne Valley, the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Initially dominated by Pinot Noir, the wines now benefit more from the elegance of Chardonnay. They are superb. Damien Cambres is the current cellar master at this benchmark house.
