Superb. The wine appears astonishingly youthful. The nose expresses notes of butter, crème brûlée with that intelligent lactic, almond and frangipane, without the forced reduction. All nuance and refinement. The bubbles are of rare precision. On the palate, the flavors come together with a coherence that is all too rare these days. "La classe du confort", a very English champagne, admirably made. Classic, understated elegance, worthy of a princely wedding. To be enjoyed for its own sake, now or many years from now.

For nearly ten years, Damien Cambres, the cellar master of this independent, family-owned house, has been carrying on an art: that of producing champagnes of exemplary quality and unfailing consistency, described as floral, elegant, and subtle. This expertise is made possible by a rigorous selection of the winegrowers who partner with the house and the 94 hectares it owns. Among the iconic crus on which it relies are Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for Chardonnay, as well as Ambonnay, Hautvillers, and Vertus for Pinot Noir.
