Gault&Millau's review
True to its family spirit, thanks to the key role played by Olivier Krug, even though it has been part of the LVMH group since 1999, this house is one of the most prestigious in the region. Around 30% of supplies come from its own vineyards, including two highly prized clos: Clos du Mesnil for a blanc de blancs and Clos d'Ambonnay for a blanc de noirs. Yet it is the "Grande Cuvée" that best embodies the famous Krug style. Produced with grapes from more than ten harvests and aged for a long time in bottle, each year the blend recomposes wines from several terroirs (more than 120) aged separately. Julie Cavil is the house cellar master.
