More than just a Brut Sans Année (BSA), the Grande Cuvée achieves a major tour de force: combining the best of 10 years of harvesting without vintage, and making a remarkable identified edition. This 168th, based on the 2012 vintage, is, as is often the case when young, extremely fresh, with notes of juicy mirabelle plum and cut rhubarb. On aeration, notes of pastry, beeswax and more candied fruit come through, with hints of clementine and peach. On the palate, the bubbles are caressing, the wine has a rare fullness and the finish is all freshness and minerality. A word of advice: because it evolves with each passing second, take the time to smell this very, very great wine. A real treat! Initiated in 1843, the Krug magic continues.
