96/100
1981 was a rather complicated year, and few houses vintage it. This bottle, celebrating its 40th anniversary, is perfect today. It offers notes of candied berries, oranges and chalk, and evolves freshly with hints of mushrooms and herbs. On the palate, the wine shows great presence, with ripe yellow fruit and fresh white fruit. Still plenty of freshness in this superb cuvée. Enjoy on its own or with a carpaccio of sea bass and tarragon.
