Chef's Restaurant Happy! Like a moment of gourmet bliss! Just take a look at the happy faces of the guests comfortably seated at neighboring tables, gathered for a family meal, a romantic lunch, a relaxing break in the middle of a working day... In a bucolic setting, this pretty 16th-century half-timbered house, typically Norman, is a veritable institution. But it's an institution on the move, where Laurent Kleczewski's classically inspired cuisine follows the rhythm of the market with relevance, lightness and generosity. The first white asparagus of the season are roasted and well enhanced by a beurre noisette and a "sauve vierge d'hiver" that deftly plays with acidic and herbaceous notes. A short, immobile voyage with a particularly successful and subtle interpretation of borscht, the perfect accompaniment to roasted turbot and a host of market vegetables. Finally, if the apple confit, "tatin-style", doesn't come as a surprise, we can only applaud this sincere gourmet treat, extended by a remarkable roasted apple sorbet. Service is fluid and singularly attentive. As for the wine list, it testifies to a fine diversity of quality: Beaujolais is represented by the houses of Trichard, Chermette and Loron; Burgundy, among others, by Seguin-Manuel, Louis Jadot, domaine Maillard and domaine Roger Belland; the Loire Valley, by Denis Jamain and domaine de la Bonnelière...
