Gault&Millau's review 2025

Once dedicated to the training of female teachers, Rouen's former teacher training college, built between 1884 and 1887, is enjoying a new lease of life. After more than ten years of planning and extensive renovation by the Matmut Group, the historic site is now reborn under the poetic name of L'école buissonnière. The new Hyatt Place Rouen hotel will open at the end of August 2024, along with 8,000 m² of modern office space in new buildings adjacent to the restored building. The hotel's 85 spacious rooms feature large bay windows, functional furnishings and amenities designed for both business travelers and urban weekenders. A convivial lounge bar, a casual restaurant, a fitness room and meeting spaces complete the offer, confirming the hybrid vocation of this place designed to welcome both travelers and the economic players of the Rouen metropolis.
