Sponsored Already owners of the brasserie La Ruelle, epicureans Julien Simon and William Dupont are back at Chez l'Ôtre, in the heart of Gérardmer: a warm and cosy restaurant that revisits the great classics of gastronomy, in versions with flavors from elsewhere. Here, homemade and seasonal produce take pride of place. In the kitchen, Chef Maxime's expertise and the managers' love of spices work miracles. On the menu, which is renewed every two months, you'll find good, beautiful and lively dishes, like the snails in miso and black garlic sauce. Respect for products, an exotic touch, unexpected combinations... this is the recipe for success, illustrated, for example, by this pork tongue with Tex-Mex sauce or this Thai-style beef tartar. Fish lovers are not to be outdone, with a salmon steak sublimated by a high-flying iodized sauce. On the sweet side, desserts are as surprising as they are delicious. Sundays are brunch days, with two courses (10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.) for regulars and visiting tourists alike. When the weather's fine, head to the 2 terraces for a gourmet break just like at home.
