Gault&Millau's review 2025

One of Gérardmer's great institutions. A coaching inn for horses in the 1840s, it was soon transformed into a hotel and welcomed Napoleon III, who came to inaugurate the Col de la Schlucht road. Extensively restored, it has retained all its prestige and is, today as in the past, one of the unmissable stops on a trip through the Vosges forests. This is thanks to the cosy comfort of its 76 rooms and suites, the charm of its Belle Époque chalet, the excellence of its three restaurants (with a special mention for the remarkable Pavillon P gourmet table and its 600-strong wine list) and its spa Les Chênes blancs - 450m2 with hammam, sauna, two indoor and one outdoor pool.
