Gault&Millau's review 2026

Taken over last year by Nicolas Framinet (Au petit bouchon - Chez Georges, une toque) and Éléonore Vaillon, the Giraud family's famous bouchon remains on course, still offering its classics and retaining its popular spirit. The restaurant, which opened in 1960, has left its decor virtually unchanged, with low ceilings, Vichy tablecloths and black-and-white photos on the walls, as if to emphasize its long history and stability. We start with the eggs meurette, pleasing in texture (we don't skimp on the croutons and take care with the cooking of the eggs), before returning to the pike quenelle with lobster sauce. Steak with butter and fries, the house's signature dish, is still on the menu. Classic desserts and potted wines complement the menu. For special occasions, a more extensive cellar book with some very fine references is also available.
