Gault&Millau's review 2025

Clinging to the mythical Fourvière hill, a stone's throw from the historic city but far, far from its hustle and bustle, this beautiful villa has been converted from a former 17th-century convent, flanked by its delightful chapel, a jewel of the Italian Renaissance. A member of the Relais & Châteaux collection, it offers the delights of its 34 rooms, suites and apartments, which have retained their French ceilings, mezzanines and Italian-style mosaics. The wellness area boasts an outdoor swimming pool, heated year-round, a hammam and sauna under a vaulted ceiling, and above all, a terrace where you can dine in the restaurant, which serves remarkable local cuisine. A formidable promontory that unveils the historic city (a UNESCO World Heritage site) with its forest of rooftops and the sky ablaze at sunset.
