Gault&Millau's review 2025

Housed in the city's former Hôtel-Dieu, a magnificent edifice in the heart of the Rhone peninsula, the hotel has garnered several awards since its inauguration in 2019, including Best Hotel in France at the World Travel Awards (the equivalent of the Oscars for global tourism) in 2021 and 2022. Refurbished by Jean-Philippe Nuel, the building, designed by 18th-century architect Soufflot, has retained its beautiful blonde stonework, monumental staircase and impressive dome. It now offers 144 rooms and suites in refined luxury, with sleek furnishings, king-size beds and exceptional comfort. There's also a garden terrace, the Epona restaurant headed by Mathieu Charrois, and a huge conference center with reception rooms and 12 seminar rooms. An attractive address, for relaxation or business.
