Gourmet Restaurant Five days a week, but only at lunchtime. No more, no less! So, of course, to settle down in this pocket restaurant - which even has a small terrace when the weather's fine - you have to plan ahead or be very lucky. But once you've settled in, you're in for a treat! The room is as uncluttered as it is charming: a small counter, light-colored floors and walls, blue-edged windows opening onto a tiny courtyard, cheerful promiscuity, folk and blues tunes and Charlotte's radiant presence. In his small kitchen, from which he sometimes sneaks out, Germain renews a short slate each week, reflecting the seasons and local resources. Seemingly simple, his compositions demonstrate a remarkable "touch of the ball", as sports commentators would say. It's sharp, light and delightful. In short, a cuisine that makes you happy! On this particular day, we got into the swing of things with a plump raviole, garnished with finely shredded beef (from a farm in the Rennes region), also well seasoned, and highlighted with a lovely meat jus. Hazelnuts, wild garlic and pakshoi cabbage also played an important part in the dish's success. Germain then served up an iodized, vegetal dish in the form of an exquisite mackerel nage (cooked to perfection) accompanied by a delicate Pontoise cabbage. Then it was time for dessert to rise to the same level: mission accomplished for the orange-fennel tartlet, which played so well on contrasts in taste and texture. As for the wine, you won't need to waste too much time reading the ever-changing list, but the pleasure is there, with, for example, a beaujolais régnié from Jean-Paul and Charly Thévenet, a pic saint loup from the Ravaille brothers or a saumur from Thierry Germain...
