Gault&Millau's review 2025

The Mama group continues to expand with this new address, inaugurated in 2022, in the former Hôtel de la Monnaie, a stone's throw from Place des Lices. Keen to preserve the Celtic spirit of this mansion, once the site of the mint, interior designer Benjamin El Doghaïli chose to pay homage to local artist Isidore Odorico, drawing inspiration from his works to cover the lobby counter with mosaics. He also decorated the lounges with seaweed motifs to celebrate the sea, while the hallway carpets echo the geometry of Bigouden headdresses. As for the rest, the venue features all the hallmarks of Mama's success: 119 functional, ultra-comfortable rooms, a restaurant offering a blend of traditional burgers and local recipes, coworking spaces and party venues. Not to mention a swimming pool and a food court with 9 boutiques where Rennes locals do their shopping before enjoying a cocktail on the rooftop, taking in the 180° view of the city's rooftop forest.
