Gourmet Restaurant It's a little after midday, and Yves Gardelle - well known for having created and run the Seven on Place Saint-Germain - rolls in on his scooter straight from the good bakery "La Tête Enfarinée". No need to delay service! His children Pierre and Olivia keep an eye on things. In fact, it was with his family that he gave birth to this new, extremely convivial restaurant, nestled not far from the city center, in a quiet, charming neighborhood where the Vilaine River meanders past. The room is bright and simply furnished, but some of the furniture and knick-knacks have already acquired a patina, lending a warm cachet to the whole. The lovely terrace at the back is another popular option when the weather's right. While in the evening, tapas and sharing plates are the order of the day, the lunch menu is a real bargain. Not revolutionary, but fresh and gourmet, the fine buckwheat tart is adorned with candied shallots and an arugula pesto that have presence. This is followed by a beautiful cod steak with a summery twist, thanks to a balanced, muscular "tomato frito" sauce and a host of seasonal vegetables. As for the lemon cake, soft but not excessively lively, it is accompanied by a mousse with discreet notes of basil. As for the wine, you can choose a bottle from the adjoining cellar (for a corkage fee), or let yourself be tempted by the suggestions "of the moment": bourgueil from Catherine and Pierre Breton, anjou (chenin) from domaine Dhommé, gamay from Marcel Lapierre or, more audaciously, an Italian maceration wine from Valentina Passalacqua.
