Top Chefs rewarded by Gault&Millau
February 16 sees the start of the 13th season of Top Chef on M6. This year, the program welcomes new candidates ready for battle, but also a new juror, Glenn Viel.
Glenn Viel, the new Top Chef 2022 juror
Crowned Grand de Demain in 2018, and today with a Gault&Millau score of 18.5/20 for his restaurant L'Oustau de Baumanière, Glenn Viel replaces Michel Sarran as juror this year, alongside Philippe Etchebest, Paul Pairet and Hélène Darroze. He has already taken part in the competition as a guest chef on some of the rounds, notably last year, when he mentored contestant Sarah Mainguy for an episode. This year, he is the 10th juror in the history of Top Chef.

Sarah Mainguy - Season 12
After making it all the way to the final of last season's Top Chef competition (2021) with chef Paul Pairet's team, this Gault&Millau 109 Jeune Talent 2022 has created a cuisine based on fresh, well-used produce. She's making quite a splash with her Nantes-based restaurant Vacarme.
-
Matthias Marc - Season 12
A Gault&Millau 2020 Young Talent, Matthias Marc made a big splash in season 12 (2021) of Top Chef. His dish "l'apologie de l'excès" astonished the entire jury, earning him the "dish of the season" award. If you'd like to try his cuisine, head for Substance in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. His restaurant is often overbooked, so book (very) early.
-
Mory Sacko - Season 11
Spotted by Gault&Millau in 2020 to receive the Dotation pour les Jeunes Talents, Mory Sacko took part the same year in the Top Chef show, eleventh season (2020). He became an emblematic figure on the show, with his audacity and creativity. With MoSuke, the man who started out with Thierry Marx has created a restaurant in his own image. Influenced by his Malian origins and his passion for Japan, his cuisine is unlike any other.
-
Jordan Yuste - Season 11
A candidate in the eleventh season (2020) of Top Chef in chef Michel Sarran's brigade, Jordan Yuste is now one of the Gault&Millau Jeunes Talents 2021. If you'd like to sample his cuisine, head to his restaurant L'Arrivage, in Sète, which he opened in 2017.
-
Damien Laforce - Season 10
Awarded Jeune Talent by Gault&Millau in 2018, Damien Laforce is taking part in the Top Chef show in 2019 (season 10), as part of Philippe Etchebest's team. If you want to warm your heart as well as your stomach, head for Le Braque in Lille, where the young chef offers recipes with plenty of chew and tripe: that's 109 Gault&Millau!
-
Coline Faulquier - Season 7
Coline Faulquier is a season 7 (2016) contestant on Top Chef. The competition was a revelation for her. A candidate who learns to trust herself, until she reaches the final. In 2017, she won the Gault&Millau Jeune Talent award. In her Signature restaurant in Marseille, she offers 2-toque cuisine.
-
Jean-Baptiste Ascione - Season 6
The Top Chef season 6 competition (2015) was a real springboard for him. In 2019, he was awarded the Gault&Millau Jeunes Talents prize and immediately opened his restaurant Petit Gris, on a quiet street in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, where he offers a "canaille" cuisine that's right up with the times.
-
Vanessa Robuschi - Season 6

-
Steven Ramon - season 5
A semi-finalist in season 5 (2014) of Top Chef, Steven Ramon also won the Trophée Innovation Gault&Millau Nord Pas de Calais in 2016, awarded in Le Touquet. Today, it's safe to say he's a pillar of Lille's new wave. A visit to his restaurant Rouge Barre is well worth it: precise cuisine and good glouglous.
-
Florent Ladeyn - Season 4
Our Grand de Demain in 2013, then Gault&Millau d'Or in 2018, was a finalist in season 4 (2013) of the TV show Top Chef. If you're passing through Flanders, his Auberge du Vert Mont is well worth a visit. The spotlight is on local produce and lively dishes.
-
Tabata Mey - Season 3
Tabata Mey (née Bonardi) took part in season 3 (2012) of Top Chef, and was a semi-finalist. She was crowned Grand de Demain Gault&Millau in 2020. An unusual destiny, given that she was initially destined to work in operating theatres rather than prestigious kitchens. In the restaurant she has since opened with her husband, Ludovic, Les Apothicaires in Lyon, you can enjoy cuisine from the heart.
