Gault&Millau's review2026
Dog Marcel is right at home, tucked away in a corner of the restaurant or at the top of the stairs, keeping watch over his teams. Le Braque, a restaurant that has been a fixture on the Lille scene for over three years, continues to keep the friendly spirit of the people of the North alive in Old Lille. An active atmosphere, always on the move, punctuated by the sound of the table bell, which sends out the dishes in a ballet orchestrated by Damien Laforce. A team of attentive waiters in a hubbub of discussions with customers as passionate about their subjects as they are about the punch of the plates, which takes over with every bite. At the counter, you'll want to spend some time with friends and open a new skittle discovered on the wine list. Seated in the dining room, you'll enjoy choosing one of the 3 to 7-course menus, from €39 to €89, and discovering seafood such as oysters with leek and wasabi juice, or pan-fried scallops with pumpkin and chilli velouté. Local meats and game, well selected from the producers or brought back from a hunting trip by the chef and Marcel, are also part of the menu. Veal with parsley herb salad and pork belly with braised red cabbage and bottarga carrots confirm the chef's talent in the kitchen and his predilection for vegetables, and few dishes escape the final turns of the pepper mill before being sent to the dining room. Pre-desserts that have all the makings of great desserts before finishing with an apple and sorrel pavlova, and we're already thinking about our next visit.
