Magnificent nose of burlat cherry, ripe raspberry and floral touches. Hide the label and close your eyes: this champagne takes you on a journey to the premier crus of Volnay. Full-bodied and fine on the palate, it reveals a great Pinot with that extra touch of severity and uprightness that makes the great Coteaux-Champenois. Prime rib or game birds will reveal it, but wait twenty or thirty years and you'll be surprised at the class and breed of this Bouzy wine when aged. The 1959s from this estate are extraordinary today.
