Sponsored La Table du Marché is first and foremost a listed building in the heart of Les Halles de Villeneuve-sur-Lot. On sunny days, it's also the pleasure of sitting on a magnificent terrace overlooking the River Lot. A place where customers feel at home and never want to leave. The secret? A team that excels in the art of welcoming, serving and cooking. The two managers, Louisa and Francis, rely on small-scale producers, passionate about the land and the soil, whose products, on the plate, reveal the taste of authenticity. From duck leg confit or duck breast with honey, served with seasonal vegetables or pommes grenaille, to calamari à la basque, truffles in ravioli or floating islands for dessert, and of course the ice creams of Benoît de la Lune (Villeneuve's leading artisan ice-cream maker): from starter to dessert, Chef Jean Renaud's menu celebrates local artisans. The same goes for the wines, where Cahors and Pic Saint-Loup surprise every palate! Add fresh flowers, French or jazzy music and foreign cookery books for escape, and you've got a perfect moment!
