Gault&Millau's review 2025

The American novelist Henry Miller, author of the legendary "Tropic of Cancer" and "Tropic of Capricorn", needs no introduction. Less well known, however, is the writer's passion for France, and in particular for the Périgord region, where he regularly came to find calm and inspiration. He came to spend a week in this former priory converted into a hotel, and stayed for an entire month, seduced by the charm of the site: formal gardens refreshed by a stream, a natural swimming pool and a former tobacco drying shed transformed into a dining room serving gourmet cuisine by Vincent Arnould. 25 rooms with patinated furniture, old-fashioned plasterwork and fireplaces complete the offer of this beautiful address, a Relais & Châteaux member.
