As the years go by, l'Ami Jean remains a sure bet, a friendly bistro where people know how to make good food. The setting is welcoming, with a large counter and tables close together for chatting with neighbors. The plate is perhaps a little less exciting than it was ten years ago, a little on autopilot, but everything holds together well and with precision: the 7 o'clock beef, peppers, smoked eel, very well done and pleasant, the grilled sea bass, from good Breton fishing, with spring vegetables before an opulent and slightly confused dessert, mixing chocolate, apricot, vanilla, coffee... The service is more or less experienced, but the managers get the job done with precision and skill. The wine is always well chosen, no old vintages, but a good sommelier approach.
