Discreetly located a stone's throw from the Trocadéro, the former private mansion of Prince Roland Bonaparte (Napoleon's grand-nephew) was completely transformed in 2012 under the impetus of the Hong Kong-based Shangri-La group, which at the time was marking its arrival in France by betting on absolute luxury. The 100 rooms and suites, decorated by Pierre-Yves Rochon, set the tone with a beautiful blend of minimalism and Empire spirit, and incredible volumes, particularly for the Shangri-La suite and its 100 m2 terrace facing the Eiffel Tower. A taste for the exceptional infuses the sumptuous lobby, the luxurious spa with its large pool and fitness area bathed in natural light, and the restaurants, including the prestigious Shang Palace with its Cantonese cuisine. Also not to be missed, the Botaniste bar and its cocktails based on génépi or absinthe - a fitting tribute to Prince Bonaparte, who owned the largest herbarium in Europe.
