Gault&Millau's review 2025

Inaugurated in 1929 to welcome Edward VIII, son of King George V and Prince of Wales, the hotel was designed by English architect André Arfvidson in an Anglo-Saxon spirit that reflected the era: cheerful, elegant and modern. After a long eclipse, the place is once again in all its splendor, thanks to designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who restored it in 2013, setting himself a mission: "To rediscover the spirit of the 1930s and its Art Deco flamboyance, with a modern twist." Mission (perfectly) accomplished, as the Prince de Galles today offers a refined and singular atmosphere, from Bar 19.20 to the luxurious lobby with its ebony furniture and crystal chandeliers. The 159 rooms and suites are also inspired by the Art Deco spirit, as is the gourmet restaurant Akira Back, named after its Korean-American chef, unless you'd prefer to sample the delights of the magnificent Patio and its passageways. Last but not least, this Luxury Collection hotel boasts an extensive fitness area and a spa by Unique Elixir Paris.
