Gourmet Restaurant This is the new little restaurant in the heart of the Krutenau. Marie Hamon and François Ash, who met while studying history and geography in Paris, have taken over the winstub "La Coccinelle" and transformed it into a gourmet bistro. François, who gained his experience at Le Laurent, L'Auberge de l'Ill and Les Haras, prepares a cuisine based on quality products, treated with care but without excessive chiseling. Despite the uncomfortable banquette, we loved the superb turbot de Roscoff, fresh and thick to perfection, pan-fried with precision, and accompanied by a few broad beans and asparagus with a powerful vegetable flavor and a real hollandaise sauce for gourmet pleasure. Starters, served on small plates, are more affordable than elsewhere - around ten euros: a fresh vegetable carpaccio made with turnip, kohlrabi, lovage and horseradish, or a Salers tartare topped with a candied egg yolk and a well-flavored beet ketchup. Among the desserts, we regret that the pretty vodka and rhubarb baba, a little dominated by black sesame, is stuck in a cup. We preferred the palet breton, no doubt baked the same day, combined with candied apples, a little caramel and ribot milk, though insufficiently emulsified. Marie uncorks niche wines from a cellar well stocked with natural wines.
