In the heart of the small village of Bach, on the route to Santiago de Compostela, "Lou Bourdié" is more than just a restaurant: it's a conservatory of Quercy country cooking, a cuisine based on the land and its traditions. Run in all humility by Julie Fouillade (and her adorable husband Jérôme in the dining room) for over seven years now, the establishment embodies an authenticity that has become rare. You're welcomed into two rooms with rustic charm, where time seems to have stood still. Stone walls, creaky parquet flooring, straw chairs, pretty tablecloths, a clock, half-timbering and a working fireplace create a convivial inn atmosphere with a unique charm. Friends and families come here to feast, especially during the Sunday lunchtime hubbub, on truffle brouillade, chicken with morel mushrooms, fillet of beef in foie gras sauce, pastis quercynois, crêpes Suzette... all served with generosity (don't overindulge in the fabulous potage systematically served as a preamble!) and extreme benevolence. An inimitable house, and a certain idea of the Pays de Cocagne...
