Chef's Restaurant Mickael Marcoux and Marie-Jeanne Rault, who met at René and Maxime Meilleur's (he was in the kitchen, she in the dining room), chose to settle in the heart of the Loire department, in this beautiful stone family home nestled in the Monts du Forez, between Saint-Chamond and Rive-de-Gier. In this magnificent natural and peaceful setting (when you leave after dinner, all you'll have to guide you back to the parking lot are the stars and your cell phone's torch), the chef has chosen to open up to all horizons, working equally well with eggplant pressé with a tomato emulsion, brill fillet with olives and fennel, or rib-eye steak contisé with Colonnata bacon. The gestures are sure, the service smiling and efficient, and the first two toques come naturally. The cellar isn't huge, but it does its best to promote small estates at reasonable prices.
