The summer sun streaming in through the closed shutters and falling on a basket of berries, aromas of cold smoke followed by more meaty notes of BBQ, it's like being in a Provencal mas on a torrid summer afternoon. The palate is fruity and energetic, with a tangy structure reminiscent of redcurrant and cranberry. The tannins add velvetiness and structure before a finish that is more marked by acidity, but still very pleasant and salivating.

Vilmart & Cie
Laurent Champs, great-grandson of Désiré Vilmart, took over the estate in 1990. He is now supported by his daughter Morgane. Today, the vineyard comprises 11 hectares planted with chardonnay (60%) and pinot noir, on terroirs classified as premier cru. The entire production is aged for ten months in foudres (some of which are over 40 years old) and oak barrels. Laurent is undoubtedly one of the region's finest winemaker-oil growers.
