Citrus fruits, with grapefruit and mandarin leading the way, as well as raisins and a chalky, mineral feel, are apparent from the very first nose. The palate is dense, with a creamy texture and a lingering finish. This is already a highly enjoyable champagne, seductive in its immediacy.

Laurent Champs, great-grandson of Désiré Vilmart, took over the estate in 1990. He is now supported by his daughter Morgane. Today, the vineyard comprises 11 hectares planted with chardonnay (60%) and pinot noir, on terroirs classified as premier cru. The entire production is aged for ten months in foudres (some of which are over 40 years old) and oak barrels. Laurent is undoubtedly one of the region's finest winemaker-oil growers.
