Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Founded in 1890 by Désiré Vilmart, Vilmart & Cie is a family-owned estate that has been passed down through six generations. Since 1995, Laurent Champs has managed the estate, located in Rilly-la-Montagne, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The vineyard now comprises 11 hectares, planted primarily with Chardonnay (7.5 hectares) and supplemented by Pinot Noir, on terroirs classified as Premier Cru. The entire production is aged in old oak casks and barrels without malolactic fermentation. Thomas Champs joined the family business in 2020 to oversee sales and marketing.
