The superb coppery, amber-orange color is followed by a divine nose, with a full range of candied aromas: cardamom, pastilla, saffron, camphor, loukoum, flower petals. Phenomenally complex, it pinotes like Burgundy. The palate is incredible, with no trace of fatigue, very marked by pinot, with flavors of stone fruit, cherry brandy, and nothing seems to be able to stop the finish. The bubbles still have the pep that makes this great wine a great champagne. The perfect match: duck with quince or cherries.
