A magical name, a standard of quality, a commitment to excellence, an experience. Just like at Montalembert in the chic 7th arrondissement, L’Atelier Robuchon lays the foundation for top-tier French cuisine—bourgeois, Robuchon-style. Prices are high, the team is well-established, and while the setting may not be the most glamorous in Paris, its location at the foot of the Étoile is a real asset. For a tasting menu, the selection is extensive, the choice almost overwhelming: it’s best to sample the dishes in small portions, as recommended, and to enjoy the set menus: caviar jelly with cauliflower cream—an absolute must-try—roasted artichoke topped with a chickpea “cappuccino,” John Dory in a ravicot sauce with a mirror glaze, a foie gras burger with verjuice-marinated harlequin peppers…
