It’s so popular that you have to be exceptionally organized and patient to find a table in this welcoming restaurant south of Angoulême. Laura and Mickaël, who combined their first names to create their restaurant’s name, complement each other perfectly in running their wonderful business. Their shared taste is reflected in the decor—simple and charming, featuring fine, natural materials—and in Mickaël’s cuisine, which draws on regional ingredients as well as from his travels across other continents, possesses the charm and flavor of originality rooted in sincerity, featuring dishes such as crab chawanmushi, seasonal porcini mushroom creations, or trout from a nearby fish farm, followed by a classic apple tart. The other secret to its success—which is quite reassuring in these times—lies in its reasonable prices, ranging from 60 to 115 € for hidden menus.
