Gourmet Restaurant Alan Lescop is well known on the Brest culinary scene, but this is the first time he's jumped into the deep end of business creation. So here he is at home, on the edge of the city center, in a quiet neighborhood. It's brand new and dapper, not overdone, but very pleasant. If the lunch menu already gives an idea of the chef's mastery, the suggestions on the à la carte menu and the evening menu confirm the seriousness of his cooking. The menu is simple, but the products are well sourced and the sense of harmony unquestionable. For example, the perfect egg is served with a confit of lightly caramelized pink onions and a delicate emulsion of comté cheese and roasted hazelnuts. If the pollack fillet is a little overcooked, the spider bisque is a winner, as are the cauliflower mousseline and the many seasonal vegetables "direct from the farm". It would be a shame to skip dessert. On this particular day, fig roasted with honey from Les Reines d'Armorique (Plougastel-Daoulas) countered the chestnut with a creamy but not overpowering dessert. Salted butter caramel, vanilla ice cream and a crunchy tuile topped it all off. The wine list is short, but the references (without indication of vintage) well chosen: muscadet from Haute Févrie, vouvray from Bernard Fouquet, beaujolais blanc from Maison Piron, vacqueyras from domaine du Colombier, bourgueil from domaine de l'Oubliée.
