Remarkable Restaurant
Overlooking the Dordogne, this medieval château offers one of the most beautiful settings in France. With its twenty or so rooms, formal gardens and top-of-the-range amenities, the house has also maintained a consistent standard for over twenty years. Under the attentive direction of Stéphanie Gombert, who takes the time to discuss each table, chef Stéphane Andrieux continues to delight a dining room of some twenty covers. In a subtly modernized classic style, the menu features seasonal produce, such as raviole with morel mushrooms or poached sea bass with a controlled beurre blanc. The chocolate and coffee dessert brings the meal to a delicious close. To accompany this grand menu approaching €200, the cellar is up to the task, with a selection of French vineyards across a wide price range. The staff in the dining room remain professional, distilling invaluable tips for discovering the Lot region.
