Description

The Bara family, located in Bouzy since 1833, owns 100% Grand Cru vineyards (11 ha mainly in Bouzy, supplemented by 0.5 ha in Verzenay). The grape varieties are mostly Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay. Their know-how has been transmitted from generation to generation, while also evolving technically to continue to improve the quality of production. In particular the tanks are now thermoregulated and 100% stainless steel.

Gault&Millau's review
The ruby-like red colour with an orange tinge reveals aromas of spicy red fruits. Blackberry, raspberry, redcurrant as well as wallflower, broom and Sarawak black pepper. On the palate, the wine is supple and rich in silky tannins. To match with rib eye roast with bone marrow.

Gault&Millau's review
The nose of this Extra Brut issued from the Grands Crus of Bouzy shows aromas of citrus fruits, marzipan and toasted hazelnuts. The attack on the palate is forthright and invigorating; it keenly reflects the minerality of the terroir. The wine is straight and presents a saline finish. It would match well with a fillet of seabream with samphire.

Gault&Millau's review
Under a generous foam, this champagne has a bright platinum colour. The nose reveals delicate roasted aromas, zests of candied citrus fruits and spicy black fruits. On the palate, the texture is creamy, mouth-watering and pleasant with stone fruits and liquorice. A good match with an Apicius pork tenderloin.

Gault&Millau's review
This vintage 2014 presents a slightly golden colour and toasted, roasted and polished aromas. On the palate, the attack is forward, generous with stewed, slightly honeyed and spiced white fruits. The balance is remarkable. This wine can be served as an apéritif of with pike quenelles.

Grand Rosé

Type Brut
Millesime BSA
Title Champagne
Classification grand cru

Colour Effervescent rosé
Gault&Millau's review
This deep pink coloured Rosé shows on the nose aromas of spicy red fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry, gooseberry). The mouthfeel is pure and fresh. The mouthfeel is chewy, scrumptious, getting even more intense with the concentration of fruits until a mouth-watering finish. It could be served over an apéritif and with beef carpaccio.
