Gault&Millau's review
It's the giant of Champagne, the size of a mastodon, the emblematic and world-famous brand of the LVMH group, with production approaching 25 million bottles each year. The "grande maison", as they say in Champagne, has been in existence for over 270 years and owns more than 1,180 hectares. Benoît Gouez, cellar master since 2005, has made undeniable progress in terms of quality, particularly for the Brut Impérial. To achieve such quality from such a large quantity is a feat worthy of praise. A new hyper-modern winery with the High Environmental Quality label, named Montaigu in reference to the hillside directly opposite, was inaugurated in Oiry in 2014.
