A great year, this particularly successful 2008 from Lanson. A lively effervescence pervades the brilliant golden color. The nose is fresh and bright with aromas of pineapple, fresh pear and Bergeron apricot. The attack on the palate is frank, with granny apple, kumquat and yellow lemon, and the whole offers controlled acidity and a fruity, mineral and pure chewiness. Retro-olfaction reveals a long, chalky, saline finish. The perfect match: scallop carpaccio.
