Chef's Restaurant On the shores of Lake Geneva, Port-Séchex is home to several restaurants frequented by locals and lovers of fresh fish alike. Proud of its six generations, the Plassat family attracts fish such as perch, arctic char and roach. A few meters from the shore, Séchex-Nous is a brand-new restaurant opened by Manon and Lucas. They met at René Meilleur's, and the young couple moved back here to Margencel, on Manon's family's land. The decor is relatively simple, the service a little on the plain side, as is the tableware. But the whole team is at the service of a promising cuisine, direct and rather well done, in a hidden menu available in three, five or seven courses. Special mention goes to trout confit with butter, green beans and sweet woodruff sabayon. The féra is lacquered and supported by citrus notes, with astonishing gherkins that have not an ounce of acidity. The cochon de Vailly defends itself well, accompanied by an aromatic declension of multicolored ratatouille. Save some room for desserts. Although Lucas Dumelie is a true cook, he also has real talent as a pastry chef. His pastries are well baked, the sorbets well finished, for a very pretty raspberry and pistachio tartlet shaped like a... fishing boat. The wine selection is a little conventional, even if it has benefited from Reynald Duvernay's good advice. Between a few bottles, some pretty gringet or Persian varietals. Fair value for money, and above all a thoughtful, friendly welcome.
