Gault&Millau's review 2025

A favorite with travelers in search of a change of scenery, fitness and well-being, this beautiful address has it all. Inaugurated in 1909 as a tribute to England's King Edward VII, this luxury retreat seems to hover above Evian, revealing not only the city's forest of rooftops, but also a breathtaking view of the lake's bluish waters. Best of all, the hotel, which was awarded the palace label after its renovation (in 2016), has kept its facade intact, making it a little Art Deco gem. It now houses 150 contemporary rooms and suites, decorated with noble materials and frescoes by Gustave Jaulmes. The Evian Source spa is a rare oasis, designed to let go and relax, with a wide range of treatments and massages. People also come here for the legendary Evian Resort Golf Club... An exceptional course, the first to host a major tournament in Europe, The Amundi Evian Championship, now held every year.
