Inaugurated in 1909 as a tribute to England's King Edward VII, this luxury retreat seems to hover above Evian, revealing not only the city's forest of rooftops, but also a breathtaking view of the lake's bluish waters. Best of all, the hotel, which was awarded the palace label after its renovation (in 2016), has kept its facade intact, making it a little Art Deco gem. It now houses 150 contemporary rooms and suites, decorated with noble materials and frescoes by Gustave Jaulmes.
