As Éric Rodez puts it: “Generations follow one another and intertwine, allowing the family’s history to shine through.” It is now up to his son, Mickael, to carry on the work of his predecessors, who have succeeded one another since 1757, and it falls to him—under Éric’s ever-watchful eye—to lead this estate, which has been Demeter-certified for over ten years. His lineup is divided into champagnes known as “Vins d’Auteur,” “Solistes” (single-vineyard champagnes), and “Empreinte”—vintage champagnes made from 100% Chardonnay or 100% Pinot Noir. Vinification in small oak barrels, no filtration, no industrial chill filtration, and no malolactic fermentation are among the estate’s hallmarks.
