Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
The history of the estate dates back to 1735, when Jean Mandois, based in Épernay, became a winemaker in the Côte des Blancs. His great-grandson, Victor, began making his own wines in 1867 and settled in Pierry in 1905. Now led by Claude Mandois, the ninth generation, the house presses and vinifies the entire 37-hectare vineyard. Comprising 70% Chardonnay, 20% Meunier, and 10% Pinot Noir, 23 hectares of the vineyard are certified organic. The variety of containers—differing in both material (stainless steel, enamel, wood, concrete) and size—allows for meticulous winemaking tailored to each terroir.
