Gault&Millau's review
This German-named house, founded in 1838 and owner of 42 ha of vines, has been owned by Louis Roederer since 1993. Under the efficient and enthusiastic management of Fabrice Rosset since 1996, Deutz has remained faithful to its style of dense, full-bodied, gourmet wines, while refining them with tank ageing only and reserve wines that are deliberately young and fresh. The house's cellar master, Michel Davesne, skilfully combines the vinosity of Pinot Noir with the finesse of Chardonnay, particularly from the Côte des Blancs. Michel Davesne has decided to retire and will carry out his last harvest in September 2022. He has been replaced by Caroline Latrive, who spent fifteen years with Ayala.
