A symbol of the 1911 Champagne revolution, Collet was born under the impetus of Raoul Collet, a Champagne owner and merchant, who was naturally propelled to the head of what would become the first union of winegrower-manipulators in January 1921 (COGEVI). Solidly established in Aÿ, on a terroir classified as a Grand Cru, it now relies on a supply base of nearly 700 winegrowers. Cellar master Sébastien Walasiack, like a great couturier, composes and blends cuvées reflecting the diversity of the terroirs. These are sold in Art Deco-style cases. Following its renovation and reopening, the Cité du Champagne Collet-Cogevi is an essential stopover in the region for any visitor interested in the history of this fabulous beverage. In October 2015, the must-see Musée des Métiers du Champagne opened its doors, as did the Villa Collet and its exhibitions related to the Prix Collet du livre gastronomique.
