Champ Divin

The production area is relatively small, as Valérie and Fabrice Closset own 7 hectares of vines. The aim is to express the terroir as respectfully as possible. The vines are grown according to biodynamic principles, with an emphasis on diversification. The estate also boasts orchards and beehives, a perfect ecological mix. The site has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2010 and biodynamic by Demeter since 2011.

Champagne Collery

The century-old champagne brand was given a fresh start by Jean, who became president of the Reims Mountain Regional Nature Park in 1974. As for Alain, he pioneered wine tourism by creating a champagne museum in Aÿ. Today, the house offers haute-couture cuvées: "NV", aged for five years in bottle, with the house dosage liqueur aged for a year in Sauternes barrels; "Blanc de Noirs", aged for seven years in bottle, with the dosage liqueur aged for a year in Burgundy barrels; and "Ratafia", aged according to the solera principle, with 30% of the previous year's wines, and aged for a year in Sauternes and cognac barrels.

The history of Maison Doré dates back to 1928, with a succession of winemakers in the family fold. In 2014, Gérard Doré called on his friend and vineyard neighbor, Jean-Guy Monmarthe, to take over the reins. Representing the sixth generation of winemakers at the head of Maison Monmarthe, Jean-Guy Monmarthe is committed to ensuring that the soul of Doré lives on in each of the cuvées produced on the estate's 4 hectares and 15 parcels. Production, blending and bottling all take place on the estate.

Charles Coquet

The Charles Coquet estate was created in 1883. Located on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims, the vines produced grapes sold to the Champagne trading houses. In the 1920s, the domaine began marketing its champagnes under its own name, until the death of its owner in the 1960s. The brand was reborn in 2020 under the impetus of Charles' great-grandson, and offers cuvées from the great growths of the Reims mountain (Louvois, Bouzy, Ambonnay). For the time being, only three cuvées are offered in a limited range, but there's no doubt that some nice surprises are in the pipeline. You can buy directly from the domaine's website.

Charles Dufour

Charles Dufour began viticulture on the family estate handed down by his father in 2010. Seeking to create champagnes that reflect his personality, he works 5 hectares of biodynamic vines. One rule: no pesticides or chemical weedkillers for this young winemaker. Working mainly with pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot blanc, Charles Dufour is developing his young estate in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in the commune of Landreville.

Established in Épernay for more than a century, this house owns around 50 ha on all the great terroirs of Champagne. The range is built around classics and prestige cuvées, including old vintages. All cuvées are cellared for four to twelve years before release, and do not undergo malolactic fermentation to preserve their freshness. A guarantee of quality: the liqueur de tirage is made from cane sugar to which Champagne wine is added. The progress made over the last few years is undeniable, all the more so as the company has reduced all its dosage levels to bring out the best in the juices, which wait in the cellar for a long time before being blended.

The quality of the house wines is outstanding. After seven years as cellar master, Cyril Brun handed over to Élise Losfelt in 2023. A former winemaking manager, notably at Dom Pérignon, and from a family of winegrowers, the new cellar master continues to develop Charles Heidsieck's unique style. The estate offers a balance between tradition and modernity. Also involved in the revival of coteaux-champenois, the house produces small quantities of white and red wines by village.

Charles de Cazanove

Located in the heart of Reims, the capital of the sacres and of champagne, the Charles de Cazanove house has been part of the region's history since 1811. Charles Gabriel de Cazanove, from a family of master glassmakers, founded the company in Avize, south of the city. But it was his son, Charles Nicolas, who contributed to the growth of the brand, which supplied, among others, the Prince of Metternich, the French presidents of the Third Republic and the table of King Edward VII of England, who had it specially imported overseas with his personal label. Today, Charles de Cazanove is one of the last independent family-run houses, combining boldness and innovation, with a sustained reputation in France and a remarkable expansion abroad.

Charlier & Fils

Carole Charlier and her husband Yves Perrin took over the management of Champagne Charlier et Fils in 1992. The Charlier family has been making its own champagnes since 1956, while the Perrin family has been marketing theirs since 1892, vinified in barrels (Armand Perrin was also a cooper). Since then, "clairs" wines are still vinified in large-capacity barrels, known as foudres de chêne. Maxime Perrin, the fifth generation to take over the estate in 2004, works 41 parcels planted on 15 ha in the famous Marne Valley region. The Pinot Meunier grape is predominant.

Charlot Père et Fils

Pierre Charlot, a young man in his thirties, is at the helm of this small 4-hectare family estate in Châtillon-sur-Marne, in the heart of the Marne valley. Naturally, Pinot Meunier reigns supreme, as it does throughout the region. Pierre took over the reins of the estate in 2009. A natural (as are his vines, by the way), the winemaker is straightforward and always has a warm, generous smile. In the vineyard, he has reintroduced the use of horses, and on the winemaking and ageing side, he uses indigenous yeasts and does not filter his wines. We're always delighted to taste the cuvée of the man we voted "Espoir de la Champagne" in 2014.

Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet belongs to the generation formed under the influence of Anselme Selosse. Since 2006, he has been working on this 11-hectare estate spread over 13 main plots (planted with the classic trio of Champagne grape varieties, but also the outsider, arbane) in Merfy, on the southern slopes of the Saint-Thierry massif on the Montagne de Reims, at the pinnacle of both quality and renown. The approach is completely parcel-based, with meticulous work in the vineyard and separate vinification.
