Gourmet Restaurant In La Chapelle d'Abondance, the Trincaz family are the masters of the place. A few meters from the famous Cornettes, Les Gentianettes offers another address, in a different style. Here, under a huge frame of blond wood, the decor is fairly uncluttered, in a raw style. The atmosphere remains family-friendly and very welcoming, one of the great strengths of establishments in the Vallée d'Abondance. The menu whets the appetite and features fine local produce, while maintaining Savoyard traditions, alongside finer, more creative cuisine. The tuna tiradito is perfectly fresh, and lake fish take pride of place. The desserts are amusing, in particular the trompe-l'œil of a Valais apricot. The wine list is well-stocked, with solid references. At the end of the meal, if the atmosphere lends itself to it, we'll gladly take out the digestifs to enjoy this family delicacy a little longer.
